The Book of Invisible Bridges
Xelís de Toro et al
Book and DVD edition
These covers do not enclose a book; they open a spectrum of possibilities. The Book of Invisible Bridges includes pieces of writing, images of the unseen, a man falling, another language, a photographer’s dream, a voice at hand, feet searching, the staircase of a painter and, most importantly, blank pages.
The texts of The Book of Invisible Bridges were written in Galician by Xelís de Toro and translated into English by John Rutherford. The following artists created artwork inspired by the writings: Bish, Ed Briggs, Chévere, Circa 69, Bruno Humberto, Yael Karavan, Fredrik Lloyd, Fran Pérez – Narf, Linda Remahl, Matt Rudkin, Dolores Sánchez Calvo, Jim Sanders, Jonathan Swain, Prue Waller. Their work can be found in the DVD that accompanies the book.

“Including plays, poems and stories, de Toros’s writings turn the cogs in your mind. They
grab you, at times they may confuse, but they stay with you”
- Rosie Davies, Pretty Litter
“The Book of Invisible Bridges is the most surprising work of Galician poetry published in a
very long time”
- Armando Requeixo, Criticalia
