'In these poems, pin-sharp insight is combined with surreal cameos of a flouncy, eccentric city where anything could happen – even the clouds are raiders ‘stealing in from the Downs’. The backdrop is magnificent views of the sky and a sense of eavesdropping on the old gods hiding there. His writing is compelling and will do your spirit good.’ Jackie Wills Praise for Unplugged at Café Atlantic: ‘Restless and inquiring, his collection never stands still, making surprising connections, sometimes within the space of a single line. By turns witty and tender, these poems balance the demands of head and heart beautifully. Highly recommended.’ Esther Morgan ‘Earnest and humorous, his poems scan his surroundings with sensitive precision. Emotion is controlled by intellect, but the effect is neither dry nor detached.’ Gregory Woods ‘An exciting debut… He delights in the possibilities of language, its musicality and cadences, he flourishes images with enviable clarity.’ Catherine Smith, The New Writer ‘Brighton’s brightest young poet’ Les Robinson, Tall Lighthouse ‘Fabulous’ Clare Pollard, Reaction
