Tim Beech’s feral and vivid imagination is complemented by his affinity for the sounds and rhythms of the Sussex area, making him an affecting and thoughtful nature poet. With a love of solitude and of the varied personalities of the landscape, traits which recall the Romantics, his poetry traces the parallels between human life and that of the wild Sussex Downs, drawing the reader into seductive ecological patterns.
Beech was born in Cannock, Staffordshire in 1953 and has a Phd. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Salford. He’s now working in the stunning lowland heath and grassland environment of Lullington Heath National Nature Reserve where he’s an estate worker. He’s a member of the Footwork Sussex Poets collective and regularly performs his work.
