The poetry of Radharani Pernarčič writes the body and its relation to the world with the awareness and fluidity of a dancer. Alongside Tatjana T. Jamnik, she is editor of Here. This collection features poems from her absorbing sequence Eons, in which the author's pursuit of touch and the corporeal produces a ritualistic and uncanny series of interactions with the natural world.
Pernarčič was born in Ptuj, Slovenia, in 1979 and it is clear that her poetic leanings are inseparable from her pursuits as a choreographer, dancer and anthropologist.
She studied ethnology and cultural anthropology at the University of Ljubljana and contemporary dance and choreography at SNDO, Amsterdam. Her first book of poetry Vesolje žalujko, Veter žaluzije was published in 2008 and her widely-translated poems have appeared in Slovenian magazines since 1999. She's now doing Phd research into movement, embodiment and sensibility and her poetry has been translated into numerous European languages.
