
Jessica Barrah was a runner-up in the Pighog Short Story Competition for Writers of Children's Fiction 2010.
She studied English at university, and taught English in Italy and
Mexico before moving to Brighton. She's been writing reviews for The Brighton Argus for a few years,
and had some mini books published, How
to Get Through the Working Day without Actually Doing Any Work, How to Get Over A Break Up, and Housemates - A Survival Guide. She
says that everything she writes or draws seems to have an element of
humour in it. Her dream is to write and illustrate children's books for
a living. Her story "The Atomic Family" is featured in The Toilet Monster and other stories.
