Astrid Holm was a runner-up in the Pighog Short Story Competition for Writers of Children's Fiction 2010.

Astrid says her stories usually involve stroppy heroines who rescue themselves. She remembers being a teenager in frightening detail (and still sometimes remind her friends of incidents they wish they'd all forgotten). She's driven by a desire to articulate just how hideously awful and skyrocket fabulous it can be, often all in the same day and yes, the crazy golf incident really did happen...

Astrid lives with her family in Brighton and has a Creative Writing M.A. Her story "Crazy Golf" is featured in The Toilet Monster and other stories.
